Alternative Break Tour: Destination New Orleans!

Over March 1-7, 2010, ten service-minded State Radio fans will have the opportunity to devote their spring break to strengthening communities throughout the Southern United States, experience the region’s vibrant culture, make new friends, and enjoy some rock ‘n roll!

Mon., 3/1 - Fly into Little Rock, meet up with tour bus

Tue. 3/2 - Visit Clinton Presidential Library, then show in Tulsa

Wed. 3/3 - Service project and show in Dallas

Thu. 3/4 - Service project and night out in Austin

Fri. 3/5 - Service project and show in Austin

Sat. 3/6 - Service project and show in New Orleans

Sun. 3/7 - Fly out of New Orleans

A typical day on the Alternative Break Tour looks a little something like this:

9:00am - Breakfast

10:00am - Team Meeting

11:00am - Service Project

3:00pm - Debrief

4:00pm - Upload Photos and Video, Blog

7:00pm - Dinner

8:00pm - State Radio

1:00am - Sweet Dreams

Fans are required to raise $1200 from family and friends to cover their share of expenses on the Alternative Break Tour. A $300 non-refundable deposit (put toward your balance) is due upon acceptance. Your donation includes:

• Flight into Little Rock – afternoon/evening of Monday, March 1st

• Flight out of New Orleans – morning of Sunday, March 7th

• Tour bus rental – lodging and ground transportation

• 3 meals/day – breakfast on March 2nd through dinner on March 6th

• Visit to the Clinton Presidential Library in Little Rock

• Service opportunities in Dallas, Austin, and New Orleans

• Tickets to State Radio shows in Tulsa, Dallas, Austin, and New Orleans

Applications must be received by 10:00pm EST on Friday, January 29th. Alternative Break Tour: Destination New Orleans! participants will be announced by Wednesday, February 3rd. Incomplete submissions will not be accepted. Participants must be over 18 years of age as of March 1, 2010.
